Excellent price / quality ratio for Audio-GD products. I didn't expect much, but when I turned on the Audio-GD R2R R1 DAC, I realized that this sound was significantly different from what I had heard from ~10 of my previous DACs, including the R2R. Space, stage, details - everything is here, nothing is smeared out of focus or exaggerated. Surprisingly good sound from Audio-GD, a brand I was not familiar with until now!

I thought I would send you some initial listening impressions after a longer music session last night. In a word ‘Wow!’ I have ‘tested’ the Serene KTE preamp using my Technics SL 1200G turntable and some high quality half-speed mastered vinyl recordings. These sounded even better than when played through my Schiit Freya S balanced preamp. Both the May KTE and Serene KTE are clearly superbly designed and built products. It was a bit of a gamble spending so much when I already had a good DAC and Preamp, but the new Holo audio gear has exceeded all expectations. I think I now have my ‘end game’ audio system..for now 😉 Thanks you Jos and Rob for your advice and help.

SERENE KTE performs nicely right out of the box. It finally brought back to life my home theatre and media center with all it's analogue and digital connections all together. In the "digital" part of my chain SERENE performed precisely as expected. Connected to HoloAudio MAY KTE, it is absolutelly not in the way of sound, it is transparent and precise, like it is not there. However in the "analogue" chain SERENE has surprised me ! With it's crazy level of transparency it has shown exactly what I have - good phono stage (from Kitsune HifI) and somewhat average turntable. But ! Now I CAN hear all smallest imperfections coming from the turntable. My analogue chain became really sensitive to quality of a records. The good ones are simply - EXCELLENT ! The medium ones - honestly, you just don’t want to listen to. IMHO, this is the whole point of "vinyl story" - hunting for and collecting the ultimate quality recordings. My previous pre-amp was hiding all this and coloring the sound with mellow low registers. One could have considered that being better, may be... But SERENE is just plain honest. At last, don't underestimate break-in period. Now, over alsmost four days of constand listening "out of the box" harshness went away and SERENE settled well into the system. Highly reccomeded!

I love my Holo Audio system. They now have had the required burn-in and they sound fantastic. It a major upgrade. Thank you for the great support.

Straight out of the box the Serene pre-amp sounded fantastic and as a bonus the XLR1 out used as a headphone amp sounded also very nice. An incredible improvement over the the Audio-GD M1 pre-amp. Much bigger difference than I thought it would be. So far I'm really happy with the pre-amp! :-)

After 200 hours of burning in, DI20he sounds amazing! Thank you so much for your great recommendation!!

The SU2 is great, taking advantage of its 10Mhz master clock input. Great feature! I can't remember such positive results from a single purchase. I ended up buying a 2nd one for my other system.

First, outstanding customer service from Jos. I was sent the wrong item and he took care of the issue immediately. Now on to the review. I had been using my Gustard R26 connected to my pc with a wired internet connection. When I received the SU-6, I connected the pc via USB and the R26 with IIS. The sound was better, but not by much. My initial impression was I paid HOW much for this? I told Jos I was not impressed with the SU-6 and he told me to wait. A couple of weeks later I turned my preamp and amp off but forgot to turn off my PC and left roon running overnight. When I turned my preamp and amp back on the next day, I was stunned. The sound had completely changed. There was more clarity in the music, more depth, and a bigger soundstage. I now have about 80 hours of use and the sound has improved further. I was told the sound will reach it's peak improvement after about 300 hours. The SU-6 makes the journey to get there fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend it, it's well worth the price. Just be sure to give it time to reach it's full potential.

In all my listening the main benefits of the DI20HE became very clear: detail, coherence, wide and deep stereo image. It is also definitely an upgrade in terms of noise and background (black). Fantastic three-dimensional soundstage. This upgrade is significant for my USB source! Many thanks!

Excellent DDC! Prior to purchasing, I used the Gustard U18, Singxer SU-6 and M2TECH hiFace Two. Audio-GD's DI-20HE ranks above them all! Take note that you'll need around 200 hours for the device to 'burn in' and fully settle. You will notice qualitative improvements within that period. MagnaHifi's customer service has been courteous and knowledgeable! They install the latest firmware on units prior to shipping and include a USB Blaster dongle for future firmware 'rolling'. Delivery to my doorstep (USA) was within the week of ordering, which is impressive considering the unit shipped from the other side of the planet! Look no further if you seek a top-of-the-line DDC. :)

I am so happy, withinthe first minutes - and this is ONLY with a quick test that everything is working - a simple RCA connection / SE out. I plugged in my HIfiman HE6sev2 - just to start with the bigger drive challenge and my goodness - from the first minute on - magic. And I will get some balanced signal into it tomorrow. I can see a great music listening wonderful journey ahead.

It was all that I expected, it goes excellent with Class D IcePower 1200AS2. It warms and gives some weight to music. Music is richer and more pleasant to listen to. Preamp is completely silent, no noise or anything. I am really satisfied.

Best DDC I have ever had! The 10Mhz Master Clock input is a big plus. Lot of other features like spdif input and reclocker onboard. The display could be a bit more modern , I am ok with it.

Bought the R28 2022 version: what a purchase! I regrettably no longer have the HE6SEv2 and I bet this beast would drive those as a charm. The DAC portion of the device is also very satifying and it took me a bit to get uesed to it (brain or hardware burn-in? I will never know...). Coming from a Violectric V200 I thought I was akready enjoying a warmer than average sound delivery but this takes it to another level. I have yet to decide if I prefer NOS or OS. The effect of the vynil record simulation, which is suppposed to provide the smoothest setting, isn't yet clear to me and I don't hear much of a difference. Using it mostly with HD800S and Arya Sealth Edition. It also proved an outstanding match for my Beyerdynamic T90 whos high register is less extreme with this amplifier than it is also with a (modest) tube amp such as the Little dot mk III, which I am now selling. Indeed it seems that the same sonic results of OTL tube amplification can be obtained by the R28: not sure if it is just due to the R2R decoding or if also the amplifier plays a role. Great service from Magnahifi is the icing on the cake.

Just one magnificent expression!! I'm not going to dwell on the contributions on music because they are all over the place. I think this is the most impressive update since 2016 my first Audio GT purchase.

I currently have an Aqua La Scala DAC but decided to buy an Audio GD R7HE MK3 for comparison. The result is that I like the sound of the R7HE MK3 much more, and so the La Scala goes up for sale. The R7HE MK3 is a really good DAC. Many thanks also to Magna for the good service.

I already had previously purchased (elsewhere) an Audio GD DAC (R7HE Mk3). I later discovered (almost a year later), that Magna was offering a couple of relatively inexpensive mod's to the same (new) unit, if ordered, before shipping. Some CAP change-outs and SILVER wire replacements, etc. The new Magna (hot-rodded) unit arrived. It was a wonderful (esoteric) improvement! Regardless of price (and, with this Magna-mod), I believe you will have one of the finest sounding DAC's around (Of course, using the all-important, I2S INPUT protocol.)

Le DI20HE est exceptionnel ! Très réactif aux changements de câbles : c'est bon signe. Plus de détail, mais sans être agressif car tout en douceur. La matière est là également, et associé à la dynamique très significative, le résultat est très vivant. Et pourtant entre un gros steamer et un très bon DAC (APL), le gain est incroyable. Merci à Magna pour la rapidité de livraison, et surtout à JOS pour sa patience pour régler quelques soucis avec un Lumin A1.

This is a amazing headphone amp. Very high resolution and wide stereo image. Sound is stunning in XLR output to my Focal Clear MG. I am very pleased with this amp. My previous Musician Andromeda headphone amp is ver y good, but this one go"s much farther in all. a very satisfied owner off the Master 19.
