I have been using the Spring3 KTE with the built-in preamp for some times now. It is simply amazing. I am so impressed by all parameters included in the term "Sound Quality", such as instrument and voice realism, precision in the soundscape (2D/3D), flow, tonality, micro/macro details, balance, dynamics and so on…. Its ability to adapt to different types/styles of music is one of the main factors making it stand out in comparison with other DAC's I've recently tested. Spring3 KTE is definitely a keeper!

First few hours of listening, no words that can describe the feeling, simply magnificent dac. If this is the beginning, what will be after 200 hrs?

Wow! Soundstage is larger, more space and air with a nice slam to the bass when compared to the chord qutest i have. It put a smile on my face! Jos and Rob provided a great service!

Very nice unit, excellent sound, a good level ahead of my previous DAC, which wasn't bad by the way. I'll let it "burn in" Too bad Holo audio isn't more known, seems it is a good brand

I bought the HoloAudio Spring 3 DAC KTE and I usually write no product ratings! Yet, credit where credit is due. The FPGA driven R2R Spring 3 KTE DAC won't need more praise. "Hearing is believing". Built like a tank, with absolutely outstanding sound quality. In my opinion and this price class, nothing comes close. Jos is a joy to deal with - making the purchase a truly worthwhile experience! Shipping was swift and I could not be more happy with my new DAC.

The Holo Spring combined with the Holo Bliss, takes me to previously unknown territory! The music flows naturally as I remember my records and it really moves you and the amp sings, it's like a musical instrument, it really plays. There is something fluid, dissolving, calm and very gentle, but also fast and very powerful when necessary.

Everything good they say about this DAC is true! This is a full grown DAC with a full grown sound, no doubt about that – easily the most analog, true to disc-info, and neutral in a good way DAC I have listened to. If there is any compromises in this DAC (yes… the May) there is no way one can tell; it’s simply that good!

I am very satisfied with it. It has a place in the high end category. Worth the price. The music became much more focused and detailed. I had a Dac with an AKK chip. This R2R is much more analog, more natural.

I received the Holo Spring 3 KTE a few days ago. Just a few hours after listening to it , I had a big smile on my face. It's a great DAC that excited me right away. In the few tests/reviews that I have read on the Internet (I unfortunately had no opportunity to listen to the Spring 3 before) was not overly reported about the device. On the contrary, my expectations were more than exceeded. I am already very happy with the DAC.

Wow…incredible performance. Anyone who says you can’t tell the difference between dacs once certain measurement goals are reached leaves me scratching my head. The Holo replaced a modified Topping D90 and it was an obvious improvement straight out-of-the- box. After a few weeks it just kept getting better. On one memorable occasion I looked up and thought, damn I’ve accidentally pushed the loudness button on the Luxman, but no, just extra proper bass had suddenly come on song. So I immediately had to go back and start again with all the favourite CDs I’d been listening to. And all this is plain vanilla 16/44 cd replay and 70 year old ears! Great service…great product.

Le changement récent de mon cable usb m'a fait penser que je pouvais aller plus loin, et le convertisseur Holo m'a séduit sur le papier par sa robuste fabrication et son entrée usb sophistiquée. Restait à voir si le réalité correspondrait à ce que mes oreilles en attendaient. Par rapport à mon ancien GD Audio 19, je n'ai pas été déçu. La scène sonore d'abord : les instruments sont là, en grandeur réelle, avec non seulement la largeur, mais la profondeur et la hauteur (quand l'enregistrement le permet, car c'est là qu'on se rend compte que la plupart du temps on n'a qu'un patchwork de détails sonores juxtaposés). J'ai vraiment dans mon salon le piano d'Ivan Moravec, le clavecin de Christophe Rousset ou le trio d'Oscar Peterson, en trois dimensions. L'équilibre tonal a changé, car le registre grave, repoussé plus bas, ne masque plus le bas medium, et les instruments ressortent mieux timbrés et plus lumineux. Enfin on a tout un ensemble d'harmoniques, de résonances et d'extinction de notes, qui métamorphose complètement la personnalité de l'instrument. Par ailleurs, le son ne se tasse pas dans les sforzandos, mais au contraire gagne en volume et en ampleur. Le grand clavecin Couchet que touche Christophe Rousset dans les Suites de Louis Couperin paraît comme illuminé de l'intérieur, et prend tour à tour des sonorités de luth, de carillon, voire d'orgue, absentes jusque là. Bien plus, cette musique, sur laquelle je n'avais qu'une oreille admirative, me devient maintenant captivante. Le grand piano forte Broadwood, à deux claviers, que joue Georg Ewald Dahler dans les Impromptus de Schubert, instrument que j'ai dans l'oreille, pour l'avoir entendu en récital, est beaucoup plus riche en harmoniques, et prend par moments des teintes cuivrées ou argentées, sans parler d'un registre grave à la fois modelé, profond et léger, jamais empâté ni confus ou asséné. Je mets le légendaire enregistrement des Nocturnes de Chopin, par Ivan Moravec, impeccablement remasterisé par Supraphon, et c'est le choc, ou plutôt l'hypnose : une sonorité liquide et pourtant incroyablement dense, affranchie des barres de mesure, une variété de toucher à se demander s'il n'y a pas plusieurs pianos, les notes les plus ténues d'une fermeté tactiles, un son palpable, et une main droite qui décroche des pluies d'étoiles en haut du clavier. Le plus impressionnant est peut-être l'extinction de la vibration de la note à la fin de chaque Nocturne, qui se poursuit sur plusieurs secondes, et j'entend encore (ou je ressens pour être plus exact) après, la présence de l'air qui a été déplacé, comme lorsqu'un chat rentre la nuit dans votre chambre, et que vous devinez sa présence silencieuse. J'ai fait pas mal de photo dans ma vie, et je dirai que ce Holo me fait penser aux objectifs Summicron de Leitz : on pouvait trouver plus de détails, de micro ceci ou celà ailleurs, mais rien n'égalait les Summicron pour la résolution, le transfert des contrastes de noir et blancs, la profondeur et le modelé des gris. Jusque là mon ampli à tubes 2A3 Emission Labs n'avait pas encore trouvé de partenaire amont au niveau de ses qualités, mais c'est maintenant chose faite

Device performance is over my initial estimate. Actually, it is a new level of sound that I didn’t hear anytime before. Excellent level of definition of instruments, easy to recognise with sound stage, especially when I am listening to classic and jazz. Vocal sounds natural and gentle.

I'm very happy and very impressed with this DAC. It sounds great just out of the box, and it gets better and better every day. Magna Hifi personnel were very quick and helpful in responding to all of my questions. Their service is excellent, congratulations!

I was cautious at first as i was buying from outside the uk. I contacted magna hifi many times with questions on how paying the vat and shipping the item would be done. Jos always answered my questions very quickly and was very helpful. Delivery was a very easy process and the item was packaged very well. It is refreshing to do business with a company that takes pride in what they do!

The pair Holo Spring and Red plays really with authority and truth, which allows you to hear equally the qualities and defects of the recording. I am using Jplay, which I find more userfriendly than Mconnect, and marginally sounds better.

After some good advice of Rob and a great listening session at Magna's I purchased the Spring 3-2 DAC as a replacement for my Naim ND5XS. The Naim is still in place as a streaming device and digitally connected to the Spring 3. No regrets at all. The DAC is a great step forward in my listening experience. The DAC really invites you to listen to more and more music.

I had limited time to listen to my new DAC even though I can tell that this is marvel! I wouldn't think that it can improve all aspects of how the overall system sounds, but yet it does! Amazing, really. The temperature of the device in the top right side of the chassis the temperature is a bit high, maybe 50 C. This is not a problem according to Magna Hifi

I would like to thank you for the great correspondence and help in the purchase of the Spring 3 DAC Level 2, which I’m delighted with. Even straight out of the box the SQ improvement’s over the Naim nDac were substantial, not surprising as its over 10 years old. My RME ADI FS 2 DAC, which is very good, was shown a fresh pair of heels by the Spring DAC 3, sound stage is larger, imaging is holographic, bass is taught and deep and the way it reproduces instruments is amazing. I know all DAC’s can reproduce sound accurately, but all of them sound different, Naim has the PRAT, which is why people buy their equipment, I’m one, RME sounded superb, compared to Naim, the Spring DAC walked over both with alarming ease, simply stunning.

This is the most realistic sound I have experienced so far. It is almost creepy, how beautiful is this!! I hesitated between the Cyan2 or this DAC but the difference is big after listening to Rob in the demo room. Nice reception and they take the time for you. Very happy with this DAC and then to think that my old DAC was almost twice as expensive! Maybe also listen to the May..... :-)

I've owned the DAC for a few months now. This DAC is built so impressively and sounds amazingly clean. The tonal balance is beautiful and gives a very rich but not overly thick sound, which often causes listening fatigue, such as with my Pontus (which was sold after comparison with this Holo Spring ;-)

Bonsoir, Oui car la nuit sied aux esthètes... J'ai acheté l'ensemble Holo Audio Spring 3 et Bliss depuis au moins un an (Et j'ai eu beaucoup, beaucoup, d'autres ensembles casques). Et c'est un bonheur journalier ! J'écoute principalement via mon PC France Musique, les Web radio, FIP, etc. Et tout mes fichiers via Quobuz. Holo Audio... Que dire... On pourrait penser que l'échelle de résistance puisse dégrader le signal dans le temps... Mais non... Je crois que le concepteur de ces machines s'appelle Jef Zhu... Et que c'est un génie ! Tout comme Erik Satie, que j'écoute actuellement sur mon casque Susvara avec l’ensemble Holo Audio. Si mon fils était encore de ce monde, il écouterait Enter Sandman de Metallica avec le même bonheur... Je vous embrasse MG

Sounds superb and made a huge improvement!

Today we compared this DAC with the Weiss 204 (which has a dedicated DYI power supply) and the Meitner Audio MA-3 and the results Spring Level 2 is a great DAC perfectly balanced between stage width, holography, beautiful natural vocals and holy impressive dynamics!

The first impressions are very positive . Very open, smoother, warmer and wider soundstage. compared to my Hegel.
