Matrix Audio was born out of the friendship of three classmates in Xi’an, China, united by a shared passion for high-end audio. After working on several hobby projects during their studies, they decided to turn their dream into reality upon graduating in 2006. Combining their expertise in digital signal processing with boundless enthusiasm, they launched Matrix Audio and introduced their first DAC.

Today, 18 years later, Matrix Audio has grown into a mature brand with a strong focus on streaming audio and world-class digital-to-analog conversion, approached with an almost holistic mindset. For many years, Magna Hifi was the distributor of Matrix Audio in the Netherlands, helping introduce this exceptional brand to Dutch audiophiles. In a thoughtful decision aimed at fostering the brand’s growth, we handed over distribution to Reference Sounds, a company dedicated to expanding Matrix Audio’s presence.

Our collaboration with Reference Sounds has been seamless, and working closely with Michael and his team has shown us that strong partnerships can lead to great results. While Magna Hifi no longer handles distribution, we continue to support Matrix Audio products and share our passion for their outstanding digital-to-analog conversion and streaming solutions with our customers.
